Walking Holidays

Some of our members enjoy a variety of walking holidays. These may be of interest to other members, either as ideas for their own holidays or just to hear about places that they have not visited. Initially the holidays included are ones that I have taken part in but my aim is to gather information from others so that we have a wide range of venues and ideas. If you have details and photos of walking holidays that you have been on, and would like to share them with other members through the website, please let me have the relevant details.

Exploring the Drakensberg Mountains Join Kath on 12 walks in the Drakensberg Mountains of South Africa. This Ramblers Worldwide Holiday makes use of two first rate hotels, each one at the head of a mainly uninhabited valley. On most days the walks are straight from the hotel and explore valleys, hills and ridges, each with its own character and beauty. The highlight of the holiday is the trip to Tugela Gorge, where the route draws close to the renowned Amphitheatre, a magnificent rock face over 3 miles long and up to 6,000 feet above the valley floor.
