Bushman Cave and Blue Pools

Saturday, 10th April
3 miles and 5 miles

Today being a sort of rest day, some of the group joined a hotel morning walk to see some Rock Art in a nearby cave. In the afternoon our leader took most of the group to the Blue Pools - which were not really blue! It was a relaxing day with both walks being quite easy.

A lizard joins us at the Meeting Point

A second visit to Doreen Falls . . .

on our way to . . .

a Bushman's cave . . .

where we find San Rock Art paintings . . .

including eland

and warriors . . .

which are sometimes depicted with animal heads

Water is always present in caves used by the San people

Arriving back at the hotel I spot the unusual means of transporting employees

In the afternoon headed out to Blue Pools - not blue today!

But a good spot to stop for lunch . . .

before making our way back down the valley
