| Walk: | Dales Ways to Hebden, climb Scale Haw to Edge Top, re-cross Hebden Beck to Yarnbury, High Barn then return over fields to Grassington | ||
| Start Point: | Grassington car park | Grid Reference: | SE 002 637 |
| Distance: | 8.25 miles | Ascent: | 1,200 feet |
| Time: | 5 hours | ||
| Weather: | Mild, some sunshine, light breeze, mainly dry underfoot. | ||
| Comments: | 20 set off (and 20 got back). A gently, easy walk, taking in Linton Falls and a level walk along the banks of the Wharfe. Disturbed a stoat killing a rabbit by the foot path so hurried on. Relaxed elevenses at Hebden, then a short, steep climb up Scale Haw and Edge Top. A stroll to the next eating stop, preceded by a halt to recall where Roger built a snowman last time I did this walk. A breezy lunch, minor exertion crossing Hebden Beck twice then a steady walk to Yarnbury and High Barn where we stopped, again, for tea. A couple of impossible styles, then a gentle scamper over fields to Grassington. | ||
