| Walk: | Dalton Crags, Hutton Roof Crags, some of Limestone Link, Burton-in-Kendal and Dalton Park | ||
| Start Point: | Dalton Lane Quarry car park | Grid Reference: | SD 553 726 |
| Distance: | 8.4 miles | Ascent: | 1,040 feet |
| Time: | 5 hours | ||
| Weather: | Fine and sunny, warmish for time of the year, bit draughty on the crags. | ||
| Comments: | From the Plain Quarry car park we climbed up through the woods to reach the open top of Dalton Crags and the trig point, for coffee. Here we met a ranger doing his monthly bird survey. He was surprised to see all of us as he normally saw very few people mid-week. It was then down through the undergrowth and limestone outgrowths of Hutton Roof Crags to find the Limestone Link path which took us to the Hutton Roof Road and up to the edge of Holmepark Fell for lunch. Back to the road for a while before turning off through Ridding and Pickles Woods, and Shape Lane to Burton-in-Kendal. A semi-circular loop took us through Dalton Park, Coat Green and Dalton Old Hall Farm back to Dalton Lane and the car park | ||
