23 walkers, including several new
people, enjoyed an easy walk in Lytham. After passing the White
Church & over the railway footbridge we reached Witch Wood, named
after a racehorse named ‘The Witch’ buried there in 1888. We didn’t
manage to see the stone marking the grave – probably overgrown, but
we did see some lovely spring bulbs in flower. The next section was
along the side of Lytham Hall grounds to Green Drive, which is
another stretch of pleasant parkland, where we saw squirrels in the
trees. The return to the start was along Lytham Green & sand dunes. |
