| Comments: | Nine walkers attended for the first grade two walk of 2011. Starting from the old Wesleyan chapel we headed for Blease Fell, passing Knott and Hare Shaw on the way. After a brief pause to admire the view we turned east for Uldale Head and coffee break. Descending steeply to Blakethwaite Bottom we contoured around the steep sided valley above Force Brow before starting the long climb to Fell Head. Following the ridge to Breaks Head we descended steeply once again before climbing Bush Howe where we attempted to find shelter from the wind for our lunch stop. After lunch we carried on to The Calf which was the highest point of the day. Turning south our descent followed an undulating route over Hazelgill Knott and Langdale Knott where we joined Cowbound Lane which took us to Longdale and a short road walk back to the cars. | ||
