| Start Point: | Abbeystead Church | Grid Reference: | SD 551 545 |
| Distance: | 5 miles | Ascent: | 250 feet |
| Time: | 3.5 hours | ||
| Weather: | Bright with a cold wind | ||
| Comments: | A good walk, varied scenery and points of interest. A gate made out of tools, differerent types of directional signs and the memorial for the Abbeystead Disaster. The weir is really impressive and so too is Abbeystead House, belonging to the Duke of Westminster. After dropping down to Long Bridge the first half of the walk is level, but there are one or two short climbs on the return (after Abbeystead House) | ||
