| Walk: | Chipping, Knot Hill, New Laund Hill, Dinkling Green Farm, Lickhurst Farm, Park Style & Park Gate, Chipping Laund Farm, and back to Chipping. | ||
| Start Point: | Chipping car park | Grid Reference: | SD 622 433 |
| Distance: | 9.2 miles | Ascent: | 1,063 feet |
| Time: | 6 hours | ||
| Weather: | Dry with a glimpse of the sun | ||
| Comments: | The walk couldn't have been more
different from the previous Wednesday. Most of the snow had
disappeared completely although we had to skirt the odd icy patches.
20 hardy walkers turned up, noisy and anarchic as usual. There's no
such thing as waiting for the leader, at least not on my walks.
Hence we climbed a hill we didn't need to, for the views I said. The
chickens were dried out, fluffy and hungry and took a fancy to David
and Brian's sandwiches. Pleasant enough walk, we didn't lose our way
and the sun came out for the last mile. The recce for this walk was carried out on 13th January. You can compare conditions on that day by clicking here. |
