| Comments: | Thirty-one brave souls turned out for the first Wednesday walk of the New Year. This walk had the potential to be very muddy but after the very cold spell we have had recently the ground was mostly frozen which made the going a lot easier. Fortunately there were only short stretches of untreated roads which we had to walk on as they were like glass and extra care had to be taken, but we were able to walk along the grass verges. I think only one person took a slight tumble with no dire consequences. Every one seemed to enjoy the walk. We arrived back at The Priory at 1.30 pm, a little late, but I think the icy conditions slowed the group down a little, plus a very difficult stile to negotiate at the beginning of the walk. The food at the Priory was excellent and served promptly after we were all seated. | ||
