| Walk: | Rawthey Bridge, Rawthey Gill waterfalls | ||
| Start Point: | Rawthey Bridge | Grid Reference: | SD 714 979 |
| Distance: | 7 miles | Ascent: | not much |
| Time: | 5 hours | ||
| Weather: | Low mist followed by clearing skies but not really cold. | ||
| Comments: | The recce was carried out in knee deep snow and had therefore to be cut short. The walk therefore also became a recce with snow still lying in Rawthey Gill. Add to this the low dense mist and the walk became rather tricky to navigate. With a further hindrance of the GPS not working it was decided to abandon the walk and make our way back by the lower slopes of Baugh fell. By early afternoon the mist suddenly cleared leaving a clear view of the all the tops around us. Too late though for the walk. | ||

Looks like we are in for a rather misty day

But at least the waterfalls are impressive . . .

with water, snow and icicles . . .

it's a pity they're not a little clearer

Typical - the mist clears when we have nearly finished the walk!
