| Distance: | 8 miles | Ascent: | <1,000 feet |
| Time: | 4.74 hours | ||
| Weather: | Dry, overcast with cool breeze. | ||
| Comments: | Leaving the car park and then the toilets we passed Waddington Hospital with its picturesque Cottages and water pump in its grounds. Taking a path on the left just beyond the hospital we started a gradual ascent to Feazer Farm on a circular walk that took us through many hay meadows, along green lanes, field paths and some country lanes. On the approach to Grindleton we passed Greendale Mill which was being converted to provide storage facilities. However, it may at one time have been a Felt Hat works. Lunch was taken at Grindleton Playground where ample seating was provided. The return leg of the walk was via a short stretch of road to cross the River Ribble. We then used the Ribble Way on its south bank to travel down stream to Bradford Bridge where we re-crossed the river and made our way over field paths to emerge in Waddington. The forecast was for rain in mid afternoon but our experienced leader got us back before the rain came. Another fine walk! | ||
