| Time: | 5.5 hours | ||
| Weather: | Blustery with a shower of rain at lunch time and sunshine later. | ||
| Comments: | Leader Norman plus sixteen others departed Spring Lane on the way to Samlesbury Bottoms and then Hoghton Bottoms. Because a path near the River Darwen (bottom of Hunters Hill) had been washed away it was necessary to divert to reach Higher Park Farm. Joining the Witton Weavers Way we stopped for a few minutes to take in the views from Butlers Delf. Descending from the Delf we passed Westholme School on the way to Stanley House (Restaurant). At the rear of Stanley House we encountered a herd of very inquisitive cows who insisted on joining us, quite a scary experience for one lady! Descending to Moss Hall Farm we then followed Park Lane to reach Hoolster Farm and the start point. There were a number of comments about the variations in scenery seen on the way. | ||
