| Walk: | Dunsop Bridge | ||
| Start Point: | Village car park | Grid Reference: | SD 661 501 |
| Distance: | 8 miles | Ascent: | 1,000 feet |
| Time: | 4.75 hours | ||
| Weather: | A bright and pleasant day with some sunny spells | ||
| Comments: | Much of the walking was through fields which were waterlogged and extremely muddy. An undulating path provided good views, especially at the lunch stop. Our morning stop was taken at the highest point of the walk, overlooking Goody Bridge. However, the suggestion that 'the leader always buys the drinks' was not taken on board as we neared Newton. BT claim that the telephone box in Dunsop Bridge was the 100,000th one to be installed. It’s Grid Reference is SD 63770 56550 which is supposedly the centre of Great Britain and it’s 401 islands. | ||
