| Weather: | A hot and sunny day to start, with lots of thunder and a few showers in the afternoon | ||
| Comments: | Four hardy walkers set off from Buttermere in blazing sun and high temperatures on the climb up to Whiteless Pike. After Wandope the weather became overcast. Lunch was taken on Hopegill Head with thunder all around us. As we set off the waterproofs were put on for about 10 minutes, leaving us all wetter inside than out. As we descended there was then another shower which soon cleared up. As we walked back along the shores of Crummock Water we had yet another shower but by the time we reached the cars the sun was out and all were dry. By the look of the puddles on the road over Newlands we had a lucky escape from the worst of the weather. | ||
